Rally to Keep Translink public

Join the Wilderness Committee, the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC), Gateway Sucks and Keep Translink Public to protest Bill 43.

Date and Time: Wed. Nov. 21st 4.30 - 5.30 PM    Place: Waterfront Station @ Canada Place

Transit is critical to the future of Metro Vancouver. Good transit decisions will allow us to preserve wildlife habitat, curb urban sprawl, and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. At a time when habitat loss and climate change are such clear threats in the Lower Mainland, we must have a transit system that is open, accountable and responsive to the needs of commuters.

Day of Action to Canada's Forest from Sears Catalogues, Dec.4th

Sears Holding Corporation sends out 425 million catalogs a year, enough catalog paper to wrap the Sears Tower six times a day? Sears is the largest catalog company that has refused to take significant action to ensure that their catalog paper is sustainable; instead their catalogs are made from Endangered Forests!

I recently took action on ForestEthics' campaign to get Sears to stop destroying Endangered Forests for catalog paper, by writing an email to the CEO of Sears. I'm writing to ask you to take action as well. Our Endangered Forests are paying the price, and it's time Sears changes the way their catalogs are made. Tell them its time to protect our Endangered Forests!

To find out more and take action go to
www.catalogcutdown.org     Sign up now to host or attend an event.     Questions? Contact Neil (ForestEthics): neil@forestethics.org

When: 12:30 - 1:00 PM Tuesday December 4th         Where: Sears store, 701 Granville St (Granville at Georgia), Vancouver

WHALING SEASON IS ABOUT TO BEGIN 50 HUMPBACK WHALES ARE INCLUDED WITH 1000 others  Letters, e-mails, phone calls, demos....  The whales need them ASAP, please !

Humpback and Fin whales they are highly endangered whales. But the Japanese doesn't care about this or about respecting the Moratorium on whales. They only care for the profit from their meat !
Check: www.catcahelpanimals.org web page: "Japan's slaughter of dolphins","IWC 2007", "CITES 2007" and more related whaling issues in our website.

Contact your Japanese consulate / embassy and POLITELY urge them to stop whaling  "under research and scientific purposes", when in reality, all whale meat goes to supermarkets and restaurants, mention them about all toxins found in whale and dolphin meat, ask them to stop the annual slaughter of over 20,000 dolphins and small whales (from October to April), and to spare Migaloo ! ( check article below)  (Google "Japan consulates and embassies" to get one near you !).
